Meet our Principal and owner
Hello,

Thank you for visiting our site. My name is Michael Dobbs; I am the Principal and owner of The Community Day School. My wife, Anne, and I live in Nashville. We have four grown children: Andrew 28, Chatham 26, Hudson 24, and Margo 19 who is entering her second year of College.

I purchased The Community Day School (formerly The Village) in 2012 to fulfill a longtime desire to help young families care for their children and transition them into the classroom while creating an environment in which teachers can flourish. Owning and running a high-quality preschool provides the perfect opportunity for me to realize this passion and combine my talents with my work.

As a parent, teacher, coach, and longtime student of child development, I know that the first five years of a child’s life are critical in their social and academic development. An age-appropriate, community-based learning environment will favorably shape their future, health, happiness, growth, development, and learning potential. This formational framework will also impact how a child functions within their family and community. The Community Day School is such an environment—our daily mission is to develop minds with loving hearts.

We do this by recognizing that each child has something unique to offer the world. When children discover their gift, they learn who they are and that they possess great potential and beauty. We partner with parents to make this happen.

The Community Day School strives to continually
-
attract the very best early educational teachers,
-
improve facilities, curriculum, classroom and parent-interaction-technology, and
-
provide families, children, and teachers with the resources to help them flourish.
Set up a tour today. We would be proud and happy to show you around Community Day School at a time convenient for you. If you have any questions please contact us at 615.746.0894
Warmest regards,
Michael J. Dobbs
